Protective Coatings and Enclosures
Critical metal parts can be coated with anti-corrosion layers such as epoxy, powder coating, or galvanization. Additionally, many analyzers are housed in IP65 or higher-rated enclosures that protect against moisture and dust ingress.
Cathodic Protection
In highly corrosive environments (e.g., wastewater treatment or marine settings), cathodic protection systems can be used. This method uses a sacrificial anode made of a more reactive metal (like zinc or magnesium) to attract corrosion away from the analyzer components.
Environmental Control
Whenever possible, install the analyzer in a controlled environment—away from direct splash, rain, or excessive humidity. Using protective sheds or climate-controlled cabinets can significantly reduce exposure to moisture.
Regular Cleaning and Maintenance
Routine maintenance is crucial. Flush the system with clean water to remove deposits and corrosive agents. Inspect seals, O-rings, and probes for signs of wear or corrosion, and replace them as needed. Applying anti-corrosion sprays or gels on metal surfaces during maintenance can also help.

For internal electronic compartments, silica gel desiccant packs can be placed inside the enclosure to absorb moisture and maintain a dry environment.
